Portfolio > Gordie Howe Hat Trick

Childhood games hold a special place in everyone’s memory. P. Roch Smith explores the “architecture of memory” through his installation, "The Gordie Howe Hat Trick". Reclaimed metal hockey figurines are strategically arranged to address questions associated with play and competition.

The nostalgic piece highlights the popular Canadian pastime and allows the viewer to reflect on the integral role that play has in the development of character and gender roles.
