P. Roch Smith grew up in Victoria, BC and completed an undergraduate degree in environmental studies at the University of Waterloo (1993). Smith returned to the west coast to graduate from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design with a BFA in sculpture (1997). He graduated with an MFA degree in sculpture from York University in 2003. Smith currently manages and operates the foundry and metal shop at York University in addition to teaching courses in sculpture.
Smiths work is included in private, corporate and museum collections in British Columbia, Toronto, Los Angeles and New York.
